Counseling for Older Adults
Aging can present challenges for some individuals and their families. It may be difficult to accept the transitions during this new phase of life. Difficulty may arise from medical, physical, or cognitive changes. Finding meaningful activities and enjoyment in life may be challenging. Older adults may experience difficulty with the death of loved ones, housing changes, feel isolated, ignored, or struggle with financial concerns.
Therapy is a space that you can turn to help alleviate some of that burden. Search for ways, with a professional, to find sources of purpose, discuss concerns about your own mortality, grieve the death of a loved one, or cope with life transitions. Therapy is provided in the office or in nursing facilities.
